My Argon 18 Mercury TT bike
« on: July 23, 2010, 07:34:40 AM »
Well I am thinking about selling my TT bike. Most of you have seen it, an Argon 18 Mercury size medium, half alu half carbon, a few scratches but never been crashed and it is a nice bike.

I have spied a new frame that I am very keen on and if I can get a decent price for this bike I will grab the new frame..... so I dont really want to sell it, but if there is someone out there that wants a very good reliable TT bike at the right price then this is it. Good bike, handles like on rails. I am going to ride it in the state titles this weekend. In fact the only drawback I can think of with it is the rear triangle is very very tight in tolerance and larger bag tyres cant be used, this isnt a problem for racing and most singles have a low profile, I find for training I use the Bontrager, Vredestein or Vittoria smaller bag (22 or 23) tyres and dont have a problem.

..... so I am selling the frame, the vision one piece carbon TT bars (with brake levers), a thompson 'masterpiece' seatpost (this is a very nice piece of kit which allows very precise leveling and it has zero setback and a Fizik carbon Arione ($500 buck seat)....

So I am taking the drive train off it i.e. cranks and shifters/brakes.

$1300 reasonable? Throw it out there to the court of public opinion. The bars and seat cost more than that new together. Let me know. Come by and have a look at it anytime you want drop me a message.

I just spoke to George about the new frame I am interested in and it comes with its own brakeset so I will chuck in the Dura Ace Brakes at that price and George also has a few TT specific cranksets hanging on the wall in the workshop, so it could be a very inexpensive way to get a new TT bike boys (or girls??)

Mate am reconsidering selling at this stage due to reassessment of priorities and the bike I wanted turns out not to be suitable as it cant be made UCI legal. So will have to put it on the back burner but will let you know.

No problemo. My unicycle is unaffected by UCI constraints.
But anyone else who may have something aero related, TT in style that one could ride and it is for sale, lemme know!
