How to Become a Member of Sutherland Shire Cycling Club (SSCC)

SSCC offers membership in both Road or Mountain Bike (MTB) disciplines with many of our  members holding both road and MTB licences.
To join in on our club training or social rides in either discipline, you MUST hold as a minimum a current CA Ride Licence or an MTBA Recreation Licence.
If you are wanting to race, then you MUST hold a CYCLING AUSTRALIA RACE or MOUNTAIN BIKE AUSTRALIA RACE category licence.

Joining the club for either licence category is a simple process with the application and payment undertaken on line via the Cycling Australia (CA) or the Mountain Bike Australia (MTBA) membership portals. Just select Sutherland Shire from the drop down box as your chosen club when directed.

Mountain Bike Australia (MTBA) have a free 8-week free trial membership (from date of signing up).  This allows you to give the club Short Track racing a go before committing to a full MTBA licence. Available for MTB ONLY. Once expired you must take out the appropriate MTBA licence. See FREE TRIAL MEMBERSHIP for details.

Cycling Australia (CA) have a One Day Racing Membership and a Three Race Membership to be used within a 3 month period. This allows you to give road racing a go before committing to a full CA Race licence. See DAY MEMBERSHIPS for details.

Please see the links below to the relevant governing body’s membership pages, which you will find more information on the licence types and levels of insurance coverage for each licence category:

As mentioned many of our members have both CA and MTBA licences.  Both governing bodies have a 'Value Add' licence fee which discounts one of the licences by approx $50.00.  Conditions apply for this category and you will need to contact either CA or MTBA directly to arrange this.
Once you hold your licence - you are ready to ride and are most welcome as a member of SSCC.
As always, if you have questions do not hesitate to contact the club via the club email pro-forma under on the 'CONTACT US' page
