Welcome to Sutherland Shire Cycling Club

SSCC is a place for all riders – from recreational through to racing – across road, track and mountain. Our club is based at Waratah Oval in Rawson Avenue, Sutherland. This location provides riders with a variety of options right on the doorstep. Circling the club house is a custom road cycling track available for social and training rides, as well as official weekly club racing year-round.

Behind the club house is a short purpose-built mountain bike track, which is used to host our monthly Short Track MTB racing, and is the perfect place to introduce kids to mountain biking. And of course, just across the road we have access to the vast network of trails on offer in the Royal National Park. Our club members come from all walks of life, are of all ages and abilities, who share a love of riding. We look forward to welcoming you at a SSCC event soon.

Congratulations to De La Salle College Caringbah students - Alex Unicomb and Talon Hartwell on competing in the Australian inter-schools MTB Championships at the weekend.

With 470 riders from 74 Schools contesting the championships, both riders represented their school admirably. Whilst Talon was quite ill over the weekend, he still managed to finish mid field in all events in his first year in division 2 for year 9/10 boys.

Alex who is also a current Sutherland Shire CC member, became the Australian All schools division 3 (year 7/8) Overall Champion with a 1st in Pump Track, 2nd in the blue ribbon Downhill event, 5th in the Flow all Mountain event, and a 5th in the hotly contested Cross Country.

Well done boys and also well done Heathcote High School taking the shield for the tenth year in a row.
