Team Time Trial Champs - Sun 14th June Well done to all the riders who competed in the (9) Sutherland teams at the NSW Teams Time Trial Champs at Calga. Calm conditions and only a smatter of rain provided ideal conditions over a challenging course. The Masters Ladies team headed by Gaye Lynn with Karen Malone, Helen Charters and Kerry Percy won Gold. The Elite Men’s team of Darren Cash, Troy Glennan, Dan Brickell and Aiden Lyons won Silver (losing by 0.6 Sec to Northern Sydney!). We also had a number of high finishing teams in all the other categories. Well done to all those who competed especially all the TTT ‘virgins’ some were shocked by the experience whilst some revelled in it. Special thanks to George at Endeavour Cycles, Perren for the Yeti tent, Billy for all the transportation and setup help. Thanks to our driver/managers who gave up their day on the bike to look after the teams Richard, Craig, Luke, Marty, Andrew, Geoff (Cooky) and Gary.

Level 1 MTB Coach Training Program "MTBA is very excited to finally have a MTB discipline specific Level 1 coaching course for our members," "The course will allow our members to be trained by MTB specific coaches, coaches who understand, live and breathe MTB," said Scott. "The growth of mountain bike activity at all levels around Australia also brings with it the need to have highly qualified instructors to ensure that our members are being trained appropriately. "Having accredited coaches will help to generate our next Olympians or simply allow members to get more out of the experience that is mountain bike." The completion of the MTB-specific coach training program coincides with the staging in Canberra of the 2009 UCI Mountain Bike and Trials World Championships in September and combined, the two will stimulate the progression of mountain biking in Australia for 2009 and beyond. The first Level 1 MTB Coach Training Program will be delivered soon after NCAS Accreditation is awarded. For details of the Level 1 MTB Coach Training Program, please see the Training Program Information Sheet. Luke Cridland Twilight Criterium Cup Winner Friday 27th March was the last night of friday night twilight racing culminating in the final round of the Cup which had the top 4 riders of Cridland, Delacour, Glennan and Lyons all able to win the cup. Luke Cridland remained cool under pressure during the race after Perren Delacour won the first two primes making them equal on points and then Troy Glennan went solo at the halfway mark to take the next prime and surely no one could pull him back? Aiden Lyons then went solo to try and bridge across but Glennan was not easing up and as the bell rang it was Glennan leading by 15 secs over Lyons with a further 15 secs back to the bunch. Delacour’s and Cridland’s lead out men now hit the front and with 500m remaining Lyons and then Glennan were swept up and Cridland took a comfortable win over Delacour and Alex Frame.
Thanks to Endeavour Cycles for their sponsorship of the Series and all the riders and supporters for attending and making the Friday night racing so popular. Special thanks to St John (Denise & Scott), Commissaires Ken, Col, Jim and our great support staff Kimberley, Alison, Craig, Pez, Steve etc who make it all run so smoothly.
